I've been really enjoying learning to play the guitar, and John Kenny has been instrumental to that. In just over six weeks, John has helped me learn scale positions, chords and various playing techniques that all come together to help me actually play the guitar, along with understanding the theory behind it.

I’ve been having weekly guitar lessons with John for just over a month now, starting as a complete beginner with no guitar experience at all. I’m already learning my first song, which I honestly didn’t expect this quickly.

After a couple of lesson I still didn’t have a guitar and had no idea what I should even be looking for. John ended up sorting everything out for me which made the whole process so much easier.

Incredible teacher, John is an incredibly patient man who has a great talent for breaking down what at first seems impossible, he tailors each lesson to my style and shows me ways of adapting in ways id never learn myself/internet use. He also likes to find out my favorite bands and artists which makes each lesson mpre fun, I have been learning from him for 6 months now and would recommend him to any beginner wanting to make that first step into playing guitar!

I've been practising guitar for several years and felt I'd reached a plateau and wanted someone to cast an expert eye on my playing. John was able to identify areas of my technique that I could improve on. This has enabled me to get on a pathway to the next level of playing. I'm sure that johns help has enabled me to progress more quickly and it was something that I'm sure I wouldn't have been able to get out of a book or a tuition video. I have been taking guitar lessons with John for a couple of months, and learning with him has been a real joy. He is very patient and knowledgeable about the guitar and music in general. During our lessons, he tailors each session to fit my goals as a guitarist and musician. On a personal level, I’ve found John to be very approachable. After playing guitar for many years without ever having had a lesson, I was stuck in a bit of a rut. Fortunately, I found John's website and haven't looked back since. With a bucket load of patience, John has set about fixing all my bad habits (there are lots of them) and taking me back to basics. I'm still a work in progress, but John's calm, relaxed and knowledgeable teaching style is perfect and he makes it fun in the process. For anyone interested in learning guitar, be it as a complete novice or an experienced player, John has something to offer. He has a deep knowledge of both theory and practical aspects of the instrument. He is patient and understanding and will move along at whatever pace the student requires. I have had private lessons and am also a member of his social group which meets every Monday. The social group is good fun and consists of all levels of players so don't be shy, come along and see what's happening. Unleash your own Eric Clapton orwhoever you want to be.
